The Education Governance Academy promotes and supports strong charter school governance so that every charter school has the board it needs to improve student achievement.

Founded in 2014, EGA aims to be the preeminent source on public charter school governance and leverages their team’s rich history and experience to develop a successful model for helping charter schools build strong boards. At EGA, we believe that improving governance relies on relationships. We are committed to:

  1. Helping charter schools strategically build the best possible boards;
  2. Finding the right board for talented and motivated professionals in order to ensure a rewarding board service experience; and
  3. Connecting community-minded companies and organizations with opportunities to find board placements for their executives and invest in the reform and improvement of public schools.

Dr. Donna Comrie
Dr. Donna Comrie
Dr. Comrie has studied, worked and taught in the United States, Europe and the Caribbean. She serves as an Implementation Consultant for Achieve 3000 and an Adjunct Professor in FIU’s Department of Public Administration. 
Ryan Schumm
Ryan Schumm
Ryan holds a degree in Education and enjoyed three years of teaching middle school math and science at a North Carolina charter school. He was a part of the charter’s management team, which ultimately led him to explore administrative and consulting avenues.
